Package Chaos Tips and Fragile Goods
How to protect the boxes that FunTap warned you about with special handling marks.
Most Package Chaos boxes are honest cardboard. A minority are fragile goods and special shipments. FunTap Games put those words on the Steam page on purpose, next to electronics and collectibles. The inspect loop on how to sort already told you that handling marks are the law. This page is the protection manual: how to keep those marks from ending up under a kettle of dull electronics because the tape color matched.
If you are still learning the grab, start with Getting Started. If your problem is towers eating the corridor, you want how to stack. If your problem is “I keep finding broken-looking specials in the wrong bay,” stay here.
Read the mark before you love the logo
Special handling marks include the usual warehouse vocabulary: fragile, this-way-up, keep dry, do not stack, special shipment flashes that do not look like the regular label. You do not need a complete icon encyclopedia to play well. You need a habit:
- Pick the box up.
- Rotate until you have seen the face you did not want to bother with.
- If a handling mark exists, it outranks color, and it can outrank a logo that looks familiar.
- Only then walk.
Players skip step 2 because the first face already “looked like collectibles.” That is how special shipments become a foundation layer. The package types page ranks these families by how often they punish sloppy eyes. Fragile sits high because the failure is obvious and annoying.
How to protect fragile goods
- Do not use them as platforms. A fragile carton is not a coffee table for electronics. Even if the physics allows it, Shelf Complete is about correct bays, not about what the engine tolerated.
- Keep columns short. Unbuilding a tall fragile tower is how you create a landslide into the lane. Prefer two short columns of the same identity.
- Carry one. Too Heavy is already a warning for dull heavy boxes. Fragile plus greedy carry is how you invent a new achievement in your heart.
- Park them at camera height. If the only correct shelf is a mystery behind a brown wall you built in hour one, knock a viewing gap. Protection includes being able to see that you protected them.
- Found their bay early. The walkthrough tells you to found a handling-mark family among the first three bays so you stop treating specials as leftover decoration.
Special shipments are nnot later
Polar Bear Cold Chain is the frozen and refrigerated banner. Frozen Pizza, Salmon Fillet, and Cheese are not later. They are a bay. Eagle Post (Luxury & Valuables) wants Gold Bar and Diamond Cufflinks off the mixed heap before someone uses them as a step. Special shipments tempt you to postpone. They look rare, they look important, they look like they deserve a ceremony. Postponing is how they get stepped on for two hours. Treat them as a normal identity with stricter rules:
- Give them a bay as soon as you have two true matches.
- Do not store them in the reject row “until I know where they go.” The reject row is a mosh pit.
- If their label disagrees with a similar logo on a regular carton, believe the label. Near-miss logos are the classic trap.
When you later buy skills, do not assume an upgrade makes specials indestructible. Skills shorten walks and increase carry. They do not repeal handling marks.
Small habits that save the whole 4,096
Lights and volume. If a clip sound exists, hear it. Custom volume controls are a Steam tag. Turn music down until cardboard collisions are audible. That is your fragile alarm.
Look sensitivity. High sensitivity is how you tap a special stack while turning to admire it. Lower it on the controls page.
Two-trip pride. The game has no shift clock. Two safe trips beat one heroic drop. Playable at your own pace is a store tag, not a slogan.
Reject rows with labels facing you. A postpone pile whose marks face the wall is a future accident.
Stop when you get sloppy. 1,000 Stocked is a highlighted achievement because FunTap knows the middle of the job is long. Sloppy middle is when fragile goods die. Take the break the timer is not forcing.
A protection pass you can run after every season
After you finish a stocking season in the walkthrough:
- Walk the fragile bay from both ends.
- Confirm no heavier family is using it as architecture.
- Confirm this-way-up marks still point up.
- Pull any special shipment that snuck into electronics because the cardboard was the same brown.
- Only then spend money or found a new identity.
The sorting checklist includes a fragile pass checkbox. Use it. The review will tell you if this kind of careful looping is the game you wanted. The warehouse will not. It will simply let you bury a special shipment and then make you hunt for it at box 3,900.
Protect the marked boxes like they are the only part of the Steam page FunTap bothered to italicize. In a game about identity, the handling mark is the identity that can still fail after the logo was right.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common warehouse questions.
How do I protect fragile packages in Package Chaos?
Inspect handling marks first, never stack heavier goods on them, keep columns short, and found their bay early. Details are on this page; identity rules are in how to sort.
Should special shipments wait until the end?
No. Postpone piles get crushed. Found a specials bay as soon as you have two true matches, as the walkthrough recommends.
Do skills make fragile boxes safer?
Skills mostly change movement and carry. They do not replace inspect. Spend on real pain via the skills guide, and keep the marks.
